Dr. Carrie Bakunas is originally from Houston, TX. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of New Mexico where she also attended medical school. Dr. Bakunas attended UT Houston for her Emergency Medicine residency. She then went on to complete an Emergency Ultrasound fellowship at UT Houston. After fellowship, Dr. Bakunas moved to New Mexico to practice Emergency Medicine in the community for 3 years. She then returned to Houston where she now works as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and is part of the Ultrasound Section at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Bakunas also serves as the Assistant Medical Director of Emergency Services at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Her clinical interests include global health, emergency ultrasound, prehospital ultrasound, ECMO, and quality.

Dr. Joshua Fan is originally from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Riverside, and earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the same institution. He then completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas, Houston, and is currently a fellow specializing in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the same program. He also currently serves as an Assistant Medical Director for the Houston Fire Department and has a special interest in the utilization of POCUS and improvement of cardiac arrest care in the pre-hospital setting.

Dr. Rachel Bower is a native of Houston, Texas. She completed both her residency training in emergency medicine and ultrasound fellowship at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School. Her interests within emergency medicine lie in ultrasound, medical education, and global health. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring new restaurants.
